SAN ANTONIO (September 1, 2021) — September is National Library Card Sign-up Month. San Antonio Public Library (SAPL) is celebrating by inviting all Bexar County residents to enjoy the benefits that come with a library card by signing up, renewing, or encouraging others to sign up.
Borrowing books is only one of the perks of having a library card. Whether used online or in person, a library card provides people of all ages and backgrounds access to over 2 million books, eBooks, vinyl records, streaming movies and music, magazines, audiobooks, and more.
SAPL card holders also have access to a variety of programs and resources, from online homework help to career advancement assistance and a variety of online databases. A library card is packed with endless adventures and possibilities.
To sign up for a SAPL card, visit any Library branch during regular service hours. Bring a photo ID and proof of current address, such as a driver’s license or utility bill. Children under 18 may be issued cards if accompanied by a parent or guardian with a photo ID and proof of current address.
Library card signup is also available online. To begin immediately using SAPL’s digital services, fill out the online registration form at mysapl.org/cardsignup. Stop by any San Antonio Public Library location within 90 days with your photo ID and proof of current address to pick up your physical library card and start browsing.
