SAN ANTONIO (October 1, 2021) – Today marks the beginning of CPS Energy disconnections in the City of San Antonio. To prevent disconnections, Councilwoman Castillo is encouraging everyone who has fallen behind on their electricity bill to apply for a payment plan. “I want to encourage neighbors to reach out to each other and make sure they have signed up for a payment plan if they have fallen behind. Winter is coming closer, and the last thing we need is more people left to fend off a cold winter without basic resources that keep San Antonio residents safe.”

San Antonio residents can sign up for a payment plan with CPS Energy by calling 210.353.2222, visiting their customer assistance website at cpsenergy.com/assistance, or residents can show up to any of CPS Energy’s Utility Assistance Fairs across the City. On October 2, CPS Energy is hosting a Utility Assistance Fair in District 2 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. All residents are welcome to attend at the Antioch Sports Complex (314 Eross St.).
Residents that have fallen behind on their rent and utilities can seek assistance through the Neighborhood & Housing Services Department. Their website to request assistance is as follows: www.sanantonio.gov/emergencyhousingassistance.

Bexar County’s Economic & Community Development Department has a new online utility application portal at bexar.org/2764/Utility-Application-Process where residents can also request assistance.

“As always, residents can contact their District 5 Constituent Services Team at 210.207.0960. Residents can visit the Collins Garden Library Field Office (200 North Park Blvd.) to receive critical utility, rental, or mortgage assistance.”
