SAN ANTONIO (January 14, 2022) – In response to an increased demand for COVID-19 testing generated by the Omicron variant, District 6’s 6 Days of COVID Testing has been extended and expanded.
Two extra days of drive-thru testing have been added to the schedule. Working together with the Edgewood Independent School District and Community Wellness America, testing will resume Saturday, January 15 and Sunday, January 16, free of charge, at the Edgewood Theater of Performing Arts, 402 Lance St. The testing will begin at 10AM and continue while supplies last.

“We’re seeing long lines for reliable testing across the city,” said Councilwoman Cabello Havrda. “Employers and schools are requiring proof of testing and the D6 team has been working hard to meet the needs in the District.”
This weekend’s testing is open to anyone in the city 5 years of age and older. Pre-registration is not required.
“We are very fortunate to work with District 6 to provide more opportunities for our constituents to access this life saving test,” said Edgewood ISD Superintendent Dr. Eduardo Hernández.
District 6 is prepared to continue the testing beyond this weekend if the need persists.
