SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 22, 2021) — Mayor Ron Nirenberg today announced the 2022 Bond Program Tri-Chairs in a move officially launching the resident-driven process to determine which projects will be recommended to voters.
Berto Guerra, Jamie Kowalski, and Brandon Logan will serve as leaders of the effort, which will feature five citizen bond committees to review the projects.
“These three leaders have established track records of community service, and I appreciate their willingness to play a guiding role in this important process,” said Mayor Ron Nirenberg. “The bond program will address many of the City’s infrastructure needs and enhance quality of life.”
Guerra is the immediate part-Chair of the San Antonio Water System board. He served on the board nine years, leading the utility’s successful efforts to develop the Vista Ridge pipeline. Guerra is chairman and CEO of Avanzar Interior Technologies.
Kowalski is vice president of The RK Group, where she spearheads community relations activities, corporate philanthropy and other strategic initiatives. She started in her professional life as a teacher, specializing in dyslexia intervention for struggling readers.
Logan, former chairman of the MLK Committee, is the CEO of Urban Capital Planners, which crafts strategies for enhanced standards of living in inner-city communities. He serves on boards of directors for the Najim Charitable Foundation, Pre-K 4 SA, the San Antonio Parks Foundation, the United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County, and other organizations.
The bond committees will begin their work later this month.
