SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 19, 2021) – The holiday lights on the River Walk will light up early this year on Nov. 12 to kick-off the start of the holiday season. Following tradition, the official lighting ceremony will still take place on Friday, Nov. 26 during the Ford Holiday River Parade. The lights will come on at dusk on Nov. 12, and there will not be a lighting ceremony at that time.

Locals and tourists are invited downtown for a stroll or boat ride on the River Walk for a sneak peek of the holiday season downtown. The City of San Antonio is responsible for the holiday lights on the River Walk bend, and the San Antonio River Authority is responsible for holiday lights in the Museum Reach area near the Pearl. The more than 100,000 holiday lights would cover 25 linear miles if they were laid side by side.
