Here are the top stories in San Antonio today:
- On Monday, April 4, the "Hanging of Rain Rock" during Night in Old San Antonio (NIOSA) "took place on the porch of the NIOSA headquarters at the corner of Presa and Nueva streets." The event, "a decades-old tradition to help ward off bad weather" during NIOSA, "dates back to the late 1970s when then NIOSA chairman Joanna Parrish was worried about some impending bad weather that could spoil the NIOSA festivities." Fortunately, no rain occurred at that time, and so the tradition continued. This year's celebration was led by NIOSA chairman Jana Foreman, and NIOSA 2022 will be held from April 5-8, so hopefully the rain will stay away again! - This Friday, April 8, tickets for Kevin Hart's second "Reality Check Tour" performance on Wednesday, Aug. 10 will go on sale through ATTCenter.com and Ticketmaster.com. A presale will also be held on Wednesday, April 6 starting at 10 a.m. using the code "HARTSA2." Besides this show, the actor and comedian had previously scheduled another one for Saturday, Aug. 13, and "tickets for that date are already on sale," but some already sold out on Ticketmaster. Hart said, "I am hype as s**t to go back out on tour. There is nothing better than making people laugh, I can feel the energy in the venues like caffeine pumping through my veins." He added, "I've been cooking up something special and have thoughts I need to get off my chest. Go get your tickets and come ready to have a good night!" - The Battle of Flowers parade will take place in San Antonio on Friday, April 8 and on that day, "City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed," but "public safety and emergency services will remain in operation."
