- The community is invited to a free holiday lighting event on Sunday, Dec. 5 at Legacy Park, located at 103 W. Houston St. The festivities will begin at 3 p.m. and will feature music, food and activities for the whole family. At 4:30 p.m., Mariachi Los Galleros de San Antonio will perform and at 5 p.m., the official tree lighting will take place. "A new app called Curate, which effectively allows families to capture daily home videos with a prompt," will also be launched. - This holiday season, there is "plenty of art for all" in the Alamo City, "including a mixed-media show inspired by the classic Texas film 'Giant,' a showcase of work created by employees of the San Antonio International Airport, works by veterans at the Bihl Haus, and an installation at FL!GHT that captures energy and movement." - Tamale season is here, and if you plan to order tamales for your holiday table, now you won't have to stand in long lines to order the popular meal. Now you can actually get your tamales shipped right to your door with Delia's Tamales ship-to-home option! The Rio Grande Valley-based tamale shop opened up a San Antonio location in 2020, but has offered that option since 2017. Although it doesn't offer curbside or delivery for the San Antonio store at this time, you can still order your tamales and have them shipped for the holidays, but customers must have a cart total of at least $15 for shipping. For tamale menu and ordering details, please visit: (mySanAntonio.com)
- A sixth Babe's Old Fashioned Food location opened in Northeast San Antonio last week, at 12020 O'Connor Road. The "San Antonio-based mini-chain" which "got its start in 1987" serves good old-fashioned burgers, fried chicken and pizza. The new restaurant includes a bar, multiple flat screen TVs and a jukebox and offers dine-in and takeout services during its daily hours of 11 a.m.-9 p.m. For more information, visit: (San Antonio Current)
- Valencia Hotel Group, a luxury hotel management company, "is running a special called Light Up the Night" package which "includes a luxurious guest room and hand-crafted, light-up cocktails." Plan a festive getaway or book a room for your out-of-town guests during the holidays! Guests are encouraged to donate new and unwrapped toys or monetary donations at any of the Valencia hotels.
