Here are the top stories today in San Antonio:

  1. The search continues for 3-year-old Lina Sardar Khil, who has been missing for more than a week now. Massive search teams were conducted earlier this week by SAPD, BCSO, the FBI, and local search and rescue teams. According to SAPD, this is considered a missing person case and not an abduction, and they are asking the public to please contact the SAPD Missing Person Unit at (210) 207-7660 with any information or any leads. (KENS5.com)
  2. This year has been somewhat challenging for the music industry due to COVID-19, but despite the pandemic, music "artists from San Antonio and beyond dropped bold new albums in 2021... that were appropriately adventurous but also made for rewarding repeat listens." Following are 10 favorites from: (San Antonio Current)
  3. If you're out on the town and would like to try something new to eat, there are several places where you can enjoy "late night eats in San Antonio" that are open until the wee hours of the morning or even 24 hours a day! So, if you get hungry when you're out late at night, "consider a stop at one of these 10 restaurants" in town: (Subscription: San Antonio Magazine)
  4. Camp 1604, "a 12,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor camping-inspired beer garden," opened this week at the Rim Crossing, located at 5535 N. Loop West. "The new concept from Austin-based KPG Hospitality" features lots of gathering space, a full bar with more than 60 brews, "and the perfect beer-pairing grub from onsite barbecue food truck Holy Smoke." On Jan. 4, Kung Fu Saloon will be joining the entertainment complex. The vintage-arcade-themed bar will feature arcade games, "classic boardwalk delights like Skee-Ball," ping-pong, karaoke rooms and "a rotating themed pop-up bar of pop-culture favorites throughout the year." Both 21 and over venues are to open Monday through Friday from 4 p.m.-2 a.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m.-2 a.m. (culturemap.com)
  5. After suffering for years with chronic migraines and fibromyalgia, Barbi Holstlaw "turned to medicinal mushrooms to treat her" ailments. "Her husband, Tom, also found mushrooms reduced his symptoms after prescription medications did little to ease the pain of shingles and a lingering postherpetic neuralgia." The results were so positive that they decided to open up their own business in March 2021, which they named the Texas Mushroom Monks. "The San Antonio business sells a variety of both powdered and living mushrooms" and the couple "grows each variety in a mason jar on 100 percent organic brown rice and with purified water, which means everything inside of the jar is organic and safe to eat." Purchase them online or Saturdays at Heubner Oaks Farmers Market, located at 11745 W. Interstate 10. (San Antonio Magazine)
