📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in San Antonio who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our San Antonio Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top stories today in San Antonio:

  1. Tatu and Emilie Herrera, owners of Folklores Coffee House, are leading a "Plushies for Uvalde stuffed animal drive" created by a "group of San Antonio coffee and record shops." The purpose of the drive is "to provide new huggable items to kids in Uvalde following Tuesday's tragic shooting." According to a post on the initiative's Instagram page, "While we know a stuffed animal is not going to fix this problem, we all agreed that any item of comfort is a necessity at this time." For a list of places where new stuffed animals can be dropped off, please visit: (San Antonio Current)
  2. Memorial Day is coming up, and to celebrate, there are several happenings taking place in town starting this weekend! From "art experiences" to "live music" and even an "Alamo City birthday bash," there's lots of fun stuff "to look forward to," but please take a moment to remember our heroes too. 3. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, San Antonio is "the fastest-growing U.S. city in terms of numeric population growth between 2021 and 2022." The Bureau's new data on its website shows that during COVID-19, "13,626 people relocated to the Alamo City," and the city's "population grew by 0.95 percent." After comparing those numbers with those of other cities, they ranked San Antonio "at No. 1 in terms of sheer numbers." For details visit: (San Antonio Current)
  4. Actor Ricardo Chavira, who was born in San Antonio, is joining the board of "The Public Theater of San Antonio" at 800 W Ashby Place. Chavira is a LEE High School (formerly Robert E. Lee) graduate and studied at the University of the Incarnate Word. He has appeared on the "Desperate Housewives and Scandal" TV series, and "recently played Tejano queen Selena's father, Abraham Quintanilla Jr., in Netflix's Selena: The Series." He said, "As a resident of San Antonio, I'm passionate about supporting The Public Theater as a board member in making that happen, and I stand behind [Executive Artistic Director Claudia de Vasco's] vision in how we get there."
