San Antonio International Airport And Whataburger: The Perfect Combination For Hungry Travelers

San Antonio (August 24, 2021) – San Antonio-based Whataburger will be the newest restaurant to serve hungry travelers at the San Antonio International Airport (SAT). Today, officials from the City of San Antonio, Whataburger and franchise partner and airport restauranteur Paradies Lagardère revealed the brand’s future location which will open early next year.
The new restaurant will be located in the food court of Terminal A and will feature a state-of-the-art kitchen and a custom art wall to honor San Antonio landmarks. It will provide jobs for more than 50 local employees, known as Family Members.
“We are excited to welcome Whataburger to the airport family. We listened to what our customers wanted and they asked for the famous orange and white stripes of Whataburger,” said Jesus H. Saenz, Jr., IAP, Director of Airports, San Antonio Airport System.
“Bringing Whataburger to our hometown airport is a great way to serve fans and introduce our freshness and big flavors to visitors,“ said, Ed Nelson, President and CEO, Whataburger. “We’re thankful to city leaders and Paradies Lagardère for making it possible.”
