Douglass has deep Sherman ties, including past leadership of the Sherman Economic Development Corporation and service with Austin College and Texoma Medical Center.

Sherman raises water rates for large industrial users (kltv.com) ā Shermanās City Council has approved higher water and sewer rates for large industrial users, including major plants like Global Wafers and Texas Instruments, while keeping residential rates unchanged. 3. Rail News - BNSF to serve new corn mill in Texas. For Railroad Career Professionals (progressiverailroading.com) ā Two major food-industry projects are rising in Sherman: a $35 million Molinos USA corn mill and a $50 million Easy Foods manufacturing plant, both to be rail-served by BNSF. Sherman-Hagerman Bird Festival May 16 (ntxe-news.com) ā Sherman residents can look forward to the new Sherman-Hagerman Bird Festival on May 16, with free bird-themed art, talks, walks, and family activities across the Downtown Sherman Cultural District and Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge. How gas prices have changed in Sherman in the last week (lhindependent.com) ā Drivers in the Sherman-Denison area are paying about $3.46 for regular gas, noticeably below the Texas average but still far higher than a year ago.
