Police ID Man Stabbed To Death In South Austin
Witnesses told police that Fabian Gutierrez, 23, had been involved in an altercation with two other men who fled after he was stabbed.

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX — Police on Monday released the name of the mortally wounded man in South Austin who later died of stab wounds on Sunday.
Police were called to the 500 block of East Stassney Lane on Sunday just before 9:30 p.m. where they found Fabian Gutierrez, 23, with obvious signs of trauma on his body. EMS officials later arrived to transport the man to St. David's South Austin Medical Clinic, where he succumbed to his wound and pronounced dead just before 10 p.m.
Witnesses said they saw a physical disturbance in the parking lot of an apartment complex among Gutierrez and two other men also believed to be Hispanic. The two men were seen driving off in a red Dodge Ram diesel truck after Gutierrez was stabbed. The truck was later found by police and impounded a few hours later, police said.
