Police ID Victim, Suspect Related To Shooting Death Of Woman In South Austin
Michael Richard Volmer, 42, charged with murder in death of his wife, Nicole Regina Volmer at 4500 block of Walton Heath Circle.

AUSTIN, TX — Police on Monday identified the victim and suspect in a shooting death that occurred the previous Sunday.
Police reported to the 4500 block of Walton Heath Circle on Dec. 18 at about 12:23 a.m. in response to a shooting. Once there, police found Nicole Regina Volmer, 40, suffering from a gunshot wound. Police administered first aid on the woman before she was transported to a hospital where she later died.
Once the death was ruled a homicide, police learned the victim had been in an argument with her husband, Michael Richard Volmer, 42, just before her death. During the course of the argument, the man retrieved one of his firearms and fired a shot.

Volmer subsequently was charged with murder, and his bond has been set at $100,000.
Police noted the death marked the 37th murder in Austin so far this year.
