Police: 117 Arrested For DWI Over Holiday Period

Constable Mark Herman said the initiative helped ensure there were no drunk driving accidents during the holidays in northwest Houston.

SPRING, TX β€” It was a busy holiday season for law enforcement officials from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the Harris County Constable’s Office.

As part of the Holiday Patrol Initiative that began the weekend before Christmas and continued through Jan. 2, deputies made 117 drunk driving arrests.

One of those arrests involved an ATV that led deputies on a short pursuit along FM 1960 in Spring, and led to the arrest of one woman for DWI, and a man or evading arrest.

Along with the stops made for DWI, deputies also conducted numerous parking lot checks, and made crime prevention checks of area businesses in the days leading up to the annual holiday initiative.

Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman said the result of the initiative ensured that there were no drunk driving accidents in their coverage area during the holiday period.
