Local Leaders Show Support For Willowridge Students, Staff Displaced By Black Mold Discovery

Willowridge HS Students will begin the school year on Aug. 22 at district rival Marshall High School campus.

MISSOURI CITY, TX — Two rival schools who compete under the Friday night lights during high school football season, will be under one roof when the school bells ring on Aug. 22.

Willowridge High School students will start their school year at Thurgood Marshall High School while crews continue mold remediation after toxic black mold was found inside the school in June.

In Friday, Fort Bend ISD officials, local clergy leadership and members of the community in Missouri City, all came together as a show of support for the students.

Crews worked around the clock to help facilitate the opening on time, but knew in July that there was still a lot of work to finish inside the school.

Now, officials said it may not be until at least sometime in mid-September when students and teachers can return to Willowridge., KPRC reported.
