• Sugar Land Police Release Sketch After Woman Attacked With Baseball Bat (aframnews.com) — Sugar Land police have released a composite sketch and are asking for your help identifying a man who attacked a woman with a baseball bat near Creekbend Drive and Fluor Daniel Drive on June 5. The victim suffered serious injuries, and investigators believe someone may recognize the suspect or his SUV; tips can be shared with Sugar Land Police or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers. 
• FAA invests $870 million in airport infrastructure improvements (fmlink.com) — Sugar Land Regional Airport is set to receive $3.5 million in federal funding to reconstruct its runway, a project that should improve safety and reliability for local travelers and businesses. The grant is part of an $870 million nationwide FAA package upgrading airports from Los Angeles to Juneau with new roads, roofs, and terminal expansions.
• Texas Tech basketball in great shape to land son of all-time NBA legend (wreckemred.com) — A rising basketball prospect from Sugar Land, Malik Olajuwon, son of Rockets legend Hakeem Olajuwon, has Texas Tech among his final six college choices. The 4‑star shooting guard in the class of 2027 is drawing national attention as Tech looks to restock its backcourt, giving local fans another hometown name to watch on the recruiting trail.
