Sugar Land Woman Faces New Charges Of Manslaughter In Hit-And-Run Accident
Daisy Joy Decker is accused of running down five people with her SUV on March 17, killing one of the pedestrians.

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TX -- A Sugar Land woman who is accused of hitting five pedestrians with her vehicle on March 17 is facing new charges for manslaughter.
Daisy Joy Decker, 20, was arraigned Monday on multiple counts of accident involving personal injury, which was upgraded to one count of manslaughter after one of the victims died from her injuries.
Selena Patino, 19, of Los Fresnos, Texas, was walking in the bicycle lane with a large group of people in the 4200 block of Gulf Boulevard at about 1 a.m., when they were hit by a Honda CRV, allegedly driven by Decker.

Three people, including Patino, were critically injured and were taken to the hospital.

Patino died two days later at a South Padre Island hospital.
Decker, who fled the scene after the accident, was arrested several hours later and was being held in lieu of $130,000 bond.
However, with the upgrade to manslaughter, Decker’s bond was increased to $180,000, officials said.
Police said another person was also taken into custody, but information about that person’s involvement has not been released.
