1. Free trolley rides bring back historical Texarkana (kdhnews.com) — Free trolley tours in Texarkana are running through October and November, offering residents narrated rides that spotlight local landmarks and stories from City Historian Matt Solomon and the Texarkana Museum System. With limited seating and special senior tours, locals are encouraged to reserve spots early and can even rent the trolley for group events through the Texarkana Arts and Historic District.
   

2. LifeNet leaves Air Methods after 43 years as Pafford launches Texarkana helicopter base with the same company (txktoday.com) — Texarkana’s air ambulance services are shifting, with LifeNet ending its 43-year aviation partnership with Air Methods and switching to Metro Aviation, while Pafford Medical Services opens a new Air Methods-supported helicopter base in town. Residents, hospitals, and first responders now have two separate flight programs, each with new contact numbers and aircraft, affecting how critical patients are transported from Texarkana and surrounding communities.
   

3. Boil Water Notice Rescinded for Bill Rogers Dr, Northridge and Nearby Streets in Texarkana (Oct. 2, 2026) (txktoday.com) — Residents near Bill Rogers Drive and Northridge in Texarkana no longer need to boil their tap water, after state regulators confirmed the supply is safe again. Texarkana Water Utilities says corrective actions and lab tests cleared the system, ending the notice issued September 29. Neighbors with questions can call the utility at several listed 903 numbers anytime.
   

4. TRAHC offers free family art and hip-hop at Art for All Day (ktalnews.com) — Texarkana families can look forward to a free Art for All Day on November 7 at TRAHC’s Artspace on Pine Street, featuring an interactive hip-hop performance and hands-on projects in the Mayo Arts MakerSpace. Organizers say the event is designed to relieve stress, spark creativity, and give residents of all ages a welcoming place to move, make art, and connect together.
   

5. American Rheinmetall to Produce and Upgrade MK93 Enhanced Softmounts Under New ADS Order (militaryleak.com) — A new $20.7 million U.S. Army order for MK93 weapon mounts will be produced and upgraded across American Rheinmetall facilities, including its munitions operation in Texarkana. While the main manufacturing hub is in Maine, the contract reinforces ongoing work and potential follow-on orders that help sustain Texarkana’s role in the defense industrial base. Local jobs and production capacity could benefit as the program expands.
