Two East Texas parks awarded $300,000 to improve trails (ktbb.com) ā Tylerās Park of East Texas is getting a $300,000 state grant to build a new mileālong motorized trail loop with signs, furniture, a trailhead, parking and an entry gate. The funding comes from Texas Parks and Wildlifeās recreational trails program, which is investing millions statewide in both motorized and nonāmotorized trail improvements.

North Tyler residents block metal recycling business plan (ketk.com) ā North Tyler residents successfully pushed back against a proposed metal recycling business when the North Tyler Planning and Zoning Board unanimously denied a requested zoning change. Neighbors packed the public hearing, citing worries about truck traffic, noise, environmental risks, and potential hits to property values near Loop 323 and West 34th Street.

Proposed Toll 49 extension aims to reduce travel times in Tyler (ketk.com) ā Tyler drivers could eventually see shorter commutes if a proposed Toll 49 extension from SH 110 to US 271 moves forward, with construction projected around 2033.
