• Records: Ex-Randolph High School volleyball coach arrested for improper relationship with student (tspantx.com) — An arrest warrant alleges Randolph High School’s head volleyball coach, based in Universal City, had an improper relationship with an 18-year-old student, including messages and physical contact reported by staff and the student’s parents. The coach was arrested in Panola County on a Bexar County warrant and has since been transported back to Bexar County. District officials have not yet commented on her employment status.

• Texas teens accused of using dating apps to lure young men into violent robberies that left one victim shot (fox40jackson.com) — Universal City police say two teenagers recently living at Villa Mesa Apartments are accused of using dating apps to lure young men to local meetups where they were robbed and assaulted. One victim was pistol-whipped and another, a 15-year-old boy, was shot multiple times but survived. Authorities credit a swift multi-agency response for quickly arresting both suspects.

• TPWD Awards $6.17M in Statewide Recreational Trail Grants (sanangelolive.com) — Universal City has secured nearly $298,000 to build the third phase of its Cibolo Creek Recreational Trail, adding 0.85 miles of wide concrete path in Bexar County. The funding comes from a larger $6.17 million Texas Parks and Wildlife grant package supporting 21 trail projects statewide, but this award directly improves local recreation and connectivity for Universal City residents.
