Wichita Falls ISD included in Texas AG probe over 10 Commandments laws (texomashomepage.com) — Wichita Falls ISD is part of a new Texas Attorney General investigation into whether districts are following laws on Ten Commandments displays and optional prayer time. Local trustees previously voted 7–0 against adding designated prayer time but say they’ve complied with both Senate Bills 10 and 11, including distributing more than 1,000 Ten Commandments posters to WFISD classrooms.

Wichita Falls cheer team dominates at OPEN Galveston competition (texomashomepage.com) — A Wichita Falls tumbling and cheer gym just brought home major wins from the 2026 OPEN Galveston competition, including its first-ever grand championship title. Owner and veteran coach Jerome Spann led several 5678 Tumble & STAC teams to top finishes, showcasing local athletes on a big regional stage and highlighting the strength of the city’s competitive cheer community.

Sponsor a stud, build a home: Habitat for Humanity's fundraiser (texomashomepage.com) — Habitat for Humanity of Wichita Falls is inviting residents to sponsor and decorate $100 wooden studs that will be used to build a new local Habitat home. Organizers say the campaign both funds construction and surrounds future homeowners with visible community support, as past recipient Kamesha Dawkins describes how her Wichita Falls home became a lasting legacy for her children.

AAA Texas estimates over 3.5 million Texans will travel on Memorial Day holiday (newschannel6now.com) — From Wichita Falls, AAA Texas is projecting a record-busy Memorial Day weekend, with about 3.7 million Texans traveling at least 50 miles from home. Most will drive despite higher gas prices, so expect crowded highways and plan ahead if you’re leaving town from Wichita Falls or welcoming visitors here.
