• Ex-hospital director accused of bathroom spying wants evidence tossed (lmtonline.com) — A former patient care director at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center is asking a Montgomery County judge to throw out some evidence in his criminal case involving alleged secret restroom recordings. Multiple related cases are pending, a motion to suppress has been filed, and a key hearing is scheduled for late September, keeping the case active in local courts.
• City of Portage selects finalist for City Manager position (arcwestmichigan.com) — A top administrator from The Woodlands Township, Karen Dempsey-Horan, has been chosen as the finalist for city manager in Portage, Michigan, with contract talks now underway. If negotiations succeed, she's expected to start in early November, marking a significant leadership change for both Portage and The Woodlands' local government team.
