• Wylie police search for woman last seen walking into wooded area overnight, ask neighbors to check security camera footage (wfaa.com) — Wylie police are asking neighbors near Parkwood Drive to review home security footage from 1 to 7 a.m. Tuesday as they search for 46-year-old Melonie Ballenger, last seen walking into a nearby wooded area. Officers and Lonestar Search and Rescue have already searched the woods, but efforts were paused due to weather, and authorities are urging residents to share any relevant video immediately. 
• Wylie park shooting suspects arrested for 17-year-old's murder (fox4news.com) — Wylie police have arrested two Anna residents on capital murder charges in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Ty’Ron Kuria near Dodd Park on April 16. The suspects are being held in the Wylie jail as investigators continue working the case, while police urge residents to avoid spreading rumors and let the investigation proceed.
• Astros Call Up Ex-Yankees Braden Shewmake One Day After Trade (heavy.com) — A hometown connection is headed to the big leagues, as Wylie native and Wylie East alum Braden Shewmake has been called up by the Houston Astros just one day after being traded from the Yankees. The infielder, a former Texas A&M standout, will help cover Houston’s injury-thinned infield while getting a key chance to prove he belongs in the majors.
