Virgin Islands Authors Attend the 2026 National Book Festival

The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) and its selected 2026 Great Reads from Great Places authors, Danica David and Mario Picayo, proudly represented the U.S. Virgin Islands at the 2026 National Book Festival in Washington, D.C. This year’s event welcomed over 45,000 attendees to celebrate more than 80 authors, illustrators and storytellers from all 50 states and the U.S. territories.

Thanks to support from the Department of Tourism, the Institute and Museum and Library Services and the National Endowment for the Humanities, CFVI continues to put the USVI on a national literacy map, sharing its culture and heritage with audiences across the nation.
