AMC Theatres Offers Up Its Own Monthly Subscription Plan

Members can pay $19.95 a month, plus tax, to see up to three movies a week and multiple movies a day.

LEAWOOD, KS — If you go to multiple movies per week, AMC Theatres just announced a deal that you might find intriguing. On Tuesday, the company will begin offering its "AMC Stubs A-List" program — a "VIP" tier of its existing loyalty program where members can pay $19.95 a month, plus tax, to see up to three movies a week and multiple movies a day.

Under the new program, members will also be able to see movies they've already seen. The offer is available at all AMC, AMC Dine-in and AMC Classic theaters in the U.S. It also includes the company's premium offerings, including IMAX, Dolby Cinema, RealD 3D, Prime and BigD.

A-List members will still have the option to buy tickers in advance and — perhaps more importantly — reserve their seats at theaters where that service is available.

Furthermore, A-List members get the same benefits as Stubs Premiere members. This includes free upgrades on popcorn and soda, free refills on large popcorn, no online ticketing fees and expedited service at the box office and concession stand. A-List members also get 100 points for every $1 spent for the monthly fee and food and beverage spending.

“We believe that our current and future loyal guests will be interested in this type of program, as AMC Stubs A-List rewards guests with something that no one else offers: the very best of AMC, including IMAX, Dolby Cinema and RealD 3D up to 3 times per week, for one simple, sustainable price,” Adam Aron, AMC's CEO and president, said in a release.

Unused movie tickets do not carry over from week to week.

People who want to watch multiple movies on the same day must allow a "two-hour buffer" between showtimes.

*Fathom Events shows, special fan events and some Indian Cinema titles may not be included

AMC has more than 1,000 theaters and 11,000 screens worldwide. Click here to find a location near you.

The plan is slightly different from the popular MoviePass program. Under MoviePass Unlimited, members can watch one movie a day for $9.95 at participating locations, including some AMC and Regal theaters.

MoviePass subscribers get access only to 2D films — the service excludes premium showings including 3D films, IMAX, 4D, XD and specialty theaters. Subscribers also are not allowed to see the same movie twice.
