Report Says Trump Considers North Korea Strike

With reports that North Korea may take another stab at a nuclear test this weekend, there is a report that President Trump is considering a preemptive strike to make sure that doesn't happen. There are others, however, reporting that it won't happen. (Patch).



Meanwhile, We Have Dropped A Very Large Bomb

It's officially called the GBU-43 Massive Ordinance Air Blast Bomb. Others take the MOAB to stand for the mother of all bombs. It's the largest non-nuclear bomb in the United States arsenal and, on Thursday, the country used it for the first time in combat, dropping it on Afghanistan. (Patch).


Trump Signs 'Planned Parenthood' Rule

Overturning an Obama-era regulation, Trump signed a resolution passed by Congress allowing states to withhold funds from family health centers that provide abortion services. (Patch).



Lawsuit Likely Against United As Doctor's Lawyer Holds Presser

Dr. David Dao, who escaped Vietnam before arriving in the U.S., suffered a concussion, lost two teeth and had his nose broken while being dragged from the now infamous United flight. His lawyer and one of his daughters held a press conference. (Patch).


Colorado Plan For Pot Clubs Smoked In Legislature

Colorado seemed set to become the first state in the country to allow private marijuana clubs when it passed the Republican-controlled state Senate. Then the governor reminded them it could bring unwanted scrutiny from the feds. The measure died in the House. (Patch).


Lansing May Not Love Trump But They Fear His Retribution

Last week, Lansing, Michigan, stood up to President Trump, declaring itself a "Sanctuary City" whose police officers would not stop or interrogate people based on immigration status or ask crime victims or witnesses about their status. This week, the city rescinded that vote, fearing the administration would follow through on a threat to strip sanctuary cities of federal funds. That would cost Lansing $6.5 million. (Patch).


Stepping Up To Save The Manatees

A recent decision by the Department of Interior to change the status of Florida's beloved manatees to just "threatened" from "endangered" is not sitting well with the state's Congressional delegation. Eleven representatives — from both sides of the aisle — have written asking for reconsideration. (Patch).


McDonald's Manager Tries To Have It Her Way, Gets Caught

Maybe she thought she was working at Burger King, which prides itself on letting you have it your way. A manager at a McDonald's in Wisconsin was busted after police say she refunded more than 1,000 Big Macs and pocketed the cash, stealing the equivalent of nearly $4,000. (Patch).

With Mark Hamill to help guide the way, Starlight Children's Foundation and Lucasfilm visited Florida Hospital to unveil a new virtual reality program to help hospitalized kids. R2D2 was there was well. (Patch).
