Congress To Investigate Afghanistan Withdrawal Plans: Report
A Senate committee member said the U.S. must "never again repeat the same mistakes" after a nearly 20-year conflict with Afghanistan.

WASHINGTON, DC — A Congressional committee is planning to investigate what went wrong with the United States' withdrawal from Afghanistan after a nearly 20-year conflict. Its goal: U.S. leaders must never again repeat the same mistakes.
A day after the capital of Afghanistan fell to the Taliban, Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Jack Reed, a Democrat from Rhode Island, said the failures seen in Afghanistan in recent days "is not a Democratic or a Republican problem."
The problems “have been manifesting over four presidential administrations of both political parties," he continued, according to the Military Times.
