After about five minutes, Trump returned to the stage.

"Nobody said it was going to be easy for us," he told the crowd. "But we will never be stopped."

He also thanked the Secret Service.

He then returned to his stump speech, a noticeably different approach then when there would be disturbances during his rallies during the primaries and he was perceived as goading the audience on.

About 40 minutes after the incident, the Trunp campaign released a statement from the candidate.

"I would like to thank the United States Secret Service and the law enforcement resources in Reno and the state of Nevada for their fast and professional response," the statement said. "I also want to thank the many thousands of people present for their unwavering and unbelievable support. Nothing will stop us - we will make America great again."

The Secret Service also released a statement.

"Immediately in front of the stage, an unidentified individual shouted 'gun.' Secret Service agents and Reno Police Officers immediately apprehended the subject, the statement said. "Upon a thorough search of the subject and the surrounding area, no weapon was found."

The Reno rally was Trump's third of the day.
