Nothing To Bet On? This Sportsbook Lets You Gamble On The Weather
The sportsbook Bovada is now allowing gamblers to place bets on what the weather will be in certain cities across the country.

With almost all professional sports leagues suspended or canceled in the United States and around the world due to the new coronavirus, there are a lot fewer things on which gamblers can wager.
However, the sportsbook Bovada is now allowing people to place bets on what the temperature will be in certain cities across the United States.
Will the weather be over 81 degrees in Houston? What if temperatures will rise over 83 degrees in Jacksonville?

Gamblers can also place bets on the amount of rainfall in a U.S. city.
Weather isn't the only unconventional topic Bovada is allowing gamblers to bet on during the sports world hiatus. People can also use the sportsbook to place wagers on what the final song of "American Idol" will be or how certain plot lines will play out in the HBO show "Westworld."
Americans from most areas of the country can place online bets with Bovada, but certain states have passed laws prohibiting online gambling. That means residents from New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland and Nevada cannot gamble through the sportsbook.
Bovada isn't the only sportsbook offering unique lines during the national pause in sports. DraftKings has a variety of "free-to-play pools" currently available, including more than $10,000 in total prizes between Democratic Presidential Primaries, NFL QB Free Agency Pool, MLB Division, "Survivor" and "Top Chef."
