Turkey Hill Recalls Some Mislabeled Ice Cream, Packages May Contain Allergens

Some containers of Dutch Chocolate Premium Ice Cream may contain Rocky Road Premium Ice Cream instead.

Turkey Hill is voluntarily recalling select containers of its Dutch Chocolate Premium Ice Cream because they may contain Rocky Road Premium Ice Cream instead.

The packages may include undeclared ingredients of almonds and eggs, which could pose problems for people with food sensitivity or allergies. The company said only packages of Dutch Chocolate Ice Cream with Rocky Road lids and a "sell by" date of May 23, 2017 are included in the recall.

All affected 48 oz. packages would have been purchased after Sept. 8, 2016.

UPC code: 20735-42095

Sell-by date: May 23, 2017 (Found printed on the bottom of the package)

The recalled ice cream was sold at select stores in the following states:

PA., NY., NJ., MA., CT., DE., MD., VA., WV., OH., RI., ME., VT., MO., AL., NH., NC., SC., GA., MI., IN., KY,. MS., IL. and TN.

All affected stores have been instructed to remove the product from their shelves. Turkey Hill has not received any reports of illnesses concerning the recall.

Customers who may have purchased the product can return them to the place of purchase or call Turkey Hill at 1-800-693-2479.
