Stormy Daniels On 60 Minutes: Details Threats Over Trump Story

Porn star Stormy Daniels talked to Anderson Cooper about a relationship she says she had with Donald Trump.

WASHINGTON, DC — Days before the 2016 election, porn star Stormy Daniels says she accepted a $130,000 payment from Donald Trump's personal lawyer as part of a deal to remain silent about a sexual encounter she says she had with Trump more than a decade ago. Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, told Anderson Cooper in an interview on 60 Minutes on Sunday night that a stranger approached her in 2011 and threatened her and her daughter after Daniels sold her story to InTouch magazine for $15,000.

"I was in a parking lot, going to a fitness class with my infant daughter. Taking, you know, the seats facing backwards in the backseat, diaper bag, you know, gettin' all the stuff out. And a guy walked up on me and said to me, 'Leave Trump alone. Forget the story,' Daniels said in the interview. "And then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, 'That's a beautiful little girl. It'd be a shame if something happened to her mom.' And then he was gone."

The magazine chose not to run the story after Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen threatened to file a lawsuit. Years later, Daniels' attorney informed her of Cohen's offer of $130,000, she said. Daniels accepted.

She said she feared for her family's safety.

Daniels added that she never saw the man again, but would know his face anywhere if he ever came back.

"One hundred percent," she said. "Even now, all these years later. If he walked in this door right now, I would instantly know."

Daniels said she and Trump had sex once — unprotected — not long after they met at a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, in 2006. She said she didn't want to have sex with Trump, but that it was consensual. It started when Trump showed her a magazine cover featuring his picture. She said he kept talking about himself, so she said someone should spank him.

"And I said, you know, "Give me that," and I just remember him going, 'You wouldn't.' "Hand it over." And, so he did, and I was like, turn around, drop 'em."

Trump, she said, turned around and pulled his pants down a little. While still wearing underwear, she said she "gave him a couple swats."

Trump's lawyer has said he will seek to collect $20 million in damages from Daniels for violating the confidentiality agreement.

Daniels, who stressed that she was not a victim in the encounter and isn't a part of a nationwide #MeToo movement, said she would've been fine with saying nothing. But she wasn't fine with being painted as "a liar.”
