While the name has evolved, the heart of the event remains the same: bringing people together to support local businesses, artists, and makers in a fun outdoor setting.

Charles Wheal and his band play a variety of blues and roots music that has been winning fans since 2006, when he left Mark Hummel's band to focus on his own music.
In his live performances, as well as his recordings, the music is delivered by seasoned professionals playing with passion and focus. Dan Navarro’s long and eclectic resume includes songwriter, recording artist, singer, voice actor, producer, road warrior, and arts advocate in its extensive range of credits.
His former acoustic duo, Lowen &amp; Navarro, released 13 albums from 1990-2008, enjoyed widespread Triple A radio airplay, and performed 1500 shows before Eric Lowen’s retirement in 2008 and passing from ALS in 2012. Dan set out solo in 2006 and continues to tour nationally every month of the year.
His newest release is a duet single with 7-time Blues Foundation award winner Janiva Magness in a stirring version of Tom Prasada-Rao's classic “$20 Bill (for George Floyd),” released August 23, 2024 to all major streaming and download services. The song won Folk Alliance International's “Song of the Year” in 2025.
In March 2024, he debuted as a co-producer (with Grammy®-winner Jim Scott) on Jesse Lynn Madera's acclaimed album, “Speed of Sound,” including the touching co-written duet “Last Call,” now making waves at Americana, Folk and Non-Com Triple A radio. The album cracked the FAI Folk Chart March 5, 2024 at #32. Work has already begun on her follow-up, with Dan and Jim again at the helm of her new single, “Make It Out.”
As a songwriter, Dan has written or co-written heartfelt songs for Pat Benatar (the Grammy® nominated “We Belong”), The Bangles, Japanese girl group Wink (the #1 hit “One Night in Heaven”), Dutch superstar Marco Borsato (the Top Ten “Je Hoeft Niet Naar Huis Vannacht”), Dave Edmunds, The Temptations, Dionne Warwick, and Austin outlaw country legend Rusty Weir.

<a href="https://vintagenoisemusic.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Vintage Noise</a> is a Bay Area jazz and bossa nova ensemble rooted in the conversational spirit Frank Sinatra explored in his recordings with Antônio Carlos Jobim in the late 1960s. Those sessions revealed a quieter kind of strength — music built on patience and the subtle connection between voice and band. Vintage Noise approaches that repertoire from the same place: not as revival or impersonation, but as music that still carries weight when it's allowed to unfold naturally.
Vocalist Michael Carter leads with restraint — his phrasing shaped as much by listening as by singing. METRO Newspaper described him as a "latter-day crooner who sings in the style of Sinatra." Guitarist and vocalist Ed Johnson brings decades of Brazilian and jazz experience to the arrangements, hearing the harmony from the inside out — recognized by JazzTimes as composing "some of the finest Brazilian music in the world from his home base in Northern California." Pianist Franz J. Díaz moves the music forward without pushing it. Bassist Mike Hallesy holds the foundation so naturally you feel it more than hear it.

Although currently a New Yorker, guitarist <a href="https://willbernard.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Will Bernard</a>'s unique voice was formed for the most part from the rich cultural roots of the San Francisco Bay Area. Along the way he studied classical music, jazz, played in basements and coliseums, and absorbed the Bay Area Multi-Kultii, the New York downtown edge, and the loose funk of New Orleans. He has performed or recorded with Charlie Hunter, Stanton Moore, Robert Walter, John Medeski, Dr Lonnie Smith, Ben Sidran, Peter Apfelbaum, Jai Uttal, Tom Waits, Bill Laswell, Dr. John and a lot of other known and unknowns. Will can be seen working in a chameleon-like way to fit into his current habitat. His 2007 CD, "Party Hats," as well as his 1997 collaborative project, T.J. Kirk's If Four Was One, were both nominated for Grammys, and he is nominated yearly in Downbeat Magazine's Critics Poll for "Best Rising Star" Guitar Player. Will is a regular fixture at New Orleans Jazz fest, Jam Cruise and other similar events, and has toured extensively in the US and Europe. Currently, Will performs with John Medeski's Mad Skillet, Peter Apfelbaum's Sparkler, Frequinox with Stanton Moore and Robert Walter, Club D’Elf, Brian Charette's Mighty Grinders, Club Foot Orchestra, TJ Kirk spinoff Damn Skippy and the Will Bernard ’s Freelance Subversives and Pond Life. Will’s 11th record as a leader was released in 2022 on Dreck to Disk records and was on many best of 2022 lists. In 2023, Will released a duo record with SF clarinetist Beth Custer.
<a href="https://www.raffigarabedianmusic.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Raffi Garabedian</a> was born and raised in Berkeley, California, and attended the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, from which he received a BFA in Jazz Performance. He has toured extensively—both at the helm of his own projects, and as a member of other groups—and has played and recorded with luminaries such as Jorge Rossy, Ben Street, Dayna Stephens, and Johnny Talbot. Garabedian also plays in several projects in and around the Bay Area, including Insect Life—a group focusing on collective improvisation, with Ben Goldberg (clarinet), Danny Lubin-Laden (trombone), Ben Davis (cello), and Gerald Cleaver (drums)—and Sticklerphonics, again with Lubin-Laden, and Scott Amendola (drums).
In addition to his music practice, Garabedian is a seasoned educator, and is on the jazz saxophone faculty at Sonoma State University, while teaching at Berkeley High School. He has taught regularly at the California Jazz Conservatory, the Stanford Jazz Workshop, and works with private students.
Born in Oakland, CA and growing up in Salt Lake City, <a href="https://www.sfcm.edu/study/faculty/sam-bevan" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Sam Bevan</a> had classical piano lessons from the age of four, sang and played piano professionally and earned a BA in French before dedicating himself to bass, arranging and composing. Greatly in demand after moving back to Northern California in 1999, Bevan’s versatility and creativity while performing jazz, funk, folk and Afro-Cuban music kept him constantly busy with stimulating projects. He has since repeated his success since moving to New York in 2016. He has three CDs as a leader with Emergence being the most recent to date.
Throughout his professional life, Sam has had the opportunity to work with a wide range of artists including: David Grisman, Zigaboo Modeliste, Joshua Redman, Roswell Rudd, Houston Person, Stacey Kent, Kenny Washington, New York Voices, Joe Locke, Michael Wolff, Monk's Music Trio, Jim Kweskin, Geoff Muldaur, Meklit Hadero, Jesus Diaz &amp; QBA, Fito Reinoso, Louie Romero, Karl Perazzo, The VNote Ensemble, Marco Granados, Bjorkestra, Mamadou Sidibe, Matt Flinner, the New Pickle Family Circus and the Contemporary Jazz Orchestra.
A native of the Bay Area, <a href="https://www.deszon.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Deszon Claiborne</a> began his musical career at the early age of ten. Virtually self taught in the beginning, he went on to study with world-renowned drummers such as Richard Peterson, Rick Quintinel (Chuck Brown school of Drumming), James Levi, Billy Cobham and Kenneth Nash , an experience which provided him with a strong foundation in jazz, rhythm &amp; blues and world music. He has had the pleasure to perform or record with the following artists: Peter Apfelbaum, Don Cherry, Charles brown, Angela Bofill, Les McCann, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Robin Ford, Boz Scaggs, Greg Howe, Henry Butler, Giovani Hildalgo, Kai Eckhardt, John Handy, Taj Mahal, Donald Harrison, Rodney Franklin, and may others.

<a href="https://linktr.ee/dantonellimusic" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Dominick Antonelli</a> is on his first national tour! His music is a mix of acoustic fingerstyle instrumentals, heartfelt lyrics and stories from the road and song inception. He utilizes alternate tunings which allows for a wide, spacious sound layered with tasteful melodies. Often, people have shared that it sounds like two guitars are playing at once.
He has received feedback that his music sounds organic in the sense of flowing smoothly together in intuitive ways, not necessarily intellectually/theoretically created. There have been many times where listeners have an inner experience of being moved to tears, gratitude, and remembering a piece of themselves that may have been forgotten. Often, listeners and himself experience a sense of hope and wonder during the performance. He has influences from many different genres of music from bluegrass, Lo-Fi, varying degrees of rock from heavy metal, to psychedelia, classic/mainstream, alternative, folk, hip hop, Celtic, meditation music, Indian ragas, and more! He feels as though he distills all the influences in his life (sound and other) and brings them into his writing.
He is currently studying music and recording arts, with hopes of bridging the acoustic and electronic worlds with textured soundscapes for upliftment and cellular healing - more to come! He has a background in Integrative Health and has offered workshops that incorporate guided meditation, group energy healing, group ear acupuncture (Acudetox/Acuwellness/NADA), movement, journaling, and live instrumental acoustic guitar. He has performed at gatherings on the East Coast in Ohio, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and North Carolina, as well as in Thailand and Costa Rica.

Having met as students in the pioneering Berkeley public schools Jazz Program in the 1970's, the two began a lifelong musical association as members of Apfelbaum's Hieroglyphics Ensemble in 1977. In their largely improvised performances, the Apfelbaum/Hanson Duo combines Apfelbaum's expansive, polyrhythmic approach to the piano - blending elements of jazz, gospel, avant-garde and world music - with Hanson's singular, virtuosic, electronics-enhanced bassoon melodies which evoke the haunting beauty of Balkan music. Landlady is the songs project of Adam Schatz. This evening he'll be performing his newest album, Make Up / Lost Time, on the grand piano, followed by a set of improvisations with Scott Amendola and Nate Brenner. Adam Schatz recently released an improvised album Civil Engineering Vol. 1, about which Aquarium Drunkard says, “unfolds like a stately and enigmatic vision of maybe jazz and imagined soundtracks. Tremendous listening."
Schatz has also played saxophone &amp; keys on recent releases from Neko Case, Wild Pink, Miley Cyrus, Caroline Rose, and Wye Oak and produced records from Casey Dienel, Sarah Goldstone &amp; Allegra Krieger, with more fun stuff coming out in the near future. His writing has appeared in the New York Times, The Talkhouse, McSweeney's and CREEM Magazine. And yet he is a different person from the very talented journalist Adam Shatz.

Mads Tolling and pianist John R. Burr met back in 2015, and in 2023 released their first album together, Ramblin,’ on Blue Coast Records. The album features creative arrangements of songs from all corners of the music world, including Toto, Lennon/McCartney, Victor Young and John McLaughlin. Tunes from Ramblin’ will be part of the set list, along with tunes from the Great American Songbook and originals by John and Mads. Joining the two is virtuoso bassist, Dan Feiszli. Mads Tolling is a two-time Grammy Award-Winning Violinist and the 2016 Winner of DownBeat Critics Rising Star Poll. As a former nine-year member of both Turtle Island Quartet and bassist Stanley Clarke's band, Mads has spent most of his professional life touring internationally. Mads has been featured on NPR's Morning Edition, and his recordings have received rave reviews in DownBeat Magazine, Strings Magazine, Washington Post and San Francisco Chronicle. He has performed with Chick Corea, Ramsey Lewis, Kenny Barron, Paquito D'Rivera, and until recently was a part of the Bob Weir &amp; Wolf Bros. In 2015 Mads was commissioned to write a violin concerto by the late great conductor Michael Morgan, which he performed with Oakland Symphony Orchestra at the Paramount Theatre. John R. Burr is one of the most in-demand pianists around the Bay Area. He has toured extensively with Maria Muldaur and The Alison Brown Quartet. Dan Feiszli is not only an incredible bass player, but also a world-class recording engineer. He has toured with Julio Iglesias, Mickey Hart, and James Moody, and he has been in many musical theatre productions, including Hamilton, and Billy Elliot.
