To kick off Fall with an unforgettable dining experience, <a href="https://www.post1917.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Post 1917 Reading</a> is hosting a Silver Oak Wine Dinner on Tuesday, September 29th at 6:00 PM.&nbsp;
Post 1917’s culinary team has carefully created a five-course menu to complement a selection of high-end Silver Oak wines along with wines from the Duncan Family portfolio. The five-course menu includes:
<ul><li>PASSED | Stuffed Calamari with crab, lemon, herbs, pepper, onion, and basil, and Tempura King Crab with caper lime remoulade, paired with Silver Oak Sauvignon Blanc, Napa + Sonoma Valley (or California)</li><li>FIRST | Cured Scallops paired with Prince Hill Chardonnay, Willamette Valley</li><li>SECOND | Veal Marsala with mushrooms, pancetta, shallots and pappardelle, paired with Prince Hill Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills&nbsp;</li><li>MAIN | Choice of Kona Crusted Ribeye Cap with Roquefort Demi or Bacon Tomato Jam Ribeye Cap paired with Silver Oak Cabernet, Alexander Valley vs. Silver Oak Cabernet, Napa Valley</li><li>DESSERT | Peach Blueberry Cobbler with graham cracker ice cream, paired with Timeless Red Blend, Soda Canyon Ranch</li></ul>
Designed to be more than a traditional dinner reservation, this evening allows guests to explore and celebrate how each wine complements its paired dish. Perfect for a date night, anniversary, special celebration, or anyone with a love for food and wine, this one-night-only experience is $195 per person, excluding tax and gratuity. Seating is limited, and reservations are required via <a href="https://www.opentable.com/r/post-1917-steakhouse-boston" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">OpenTable</a> under “Experiences.”

As America’s 250th anniversary celebrations continue, the State Library of Massachusetts will welcome celebrated author and historian Byron Williams as part of its monthly Author Talks series. Williams will discuss his latest book, Liberty and Equality in America: Examining the Radical and Paradoxical Legacy of the Declaration of Independence. Guided by the notion of contradiction, Liberty and Equality in America examines the enduring tension between the ideals enshrined in the Declaration of Independence and the paradoxes that have shaped the American experiment. Drawing on his work as a historian, author and educator, Williams offers a timely perspective on the Declaration’s promises of liberty and equality and the complicated history of those ideals in practice. The program will feature a presentation from Williams, followed by an audience Q&amp;A and an opportunity for attendees to purchase copies of his book and have them signed. As Massachusetts, and Boston in particular, reflects on its pivotal role in the American Revolution and the founding of the nation, Williams provides a compelling voice on the Declaration’s enduring legacy and the questions it continues to raise 250 years later.
