SocialWorth is a brand new community website that is in beta and launched about ten weeks ago. This free appointment-booking tool designed to be used by both cosmetologists and transitional housing staff in order book free haircut appointments at philanthropic salons and barbershops. This not only gets haircuts for underprivileged people in our community, but is a great cause marketing tool for participating businesses!

Many people in transitional housing have their food and clothing needs met, but are looking for work and need grooming services. SocialWorth puts these folks directly into salons and barbershops to a new look and a boost of confidence! This also makes it easy for stylists to volunteer, since pros can now help the community without leaving work.

The desire to increase my volunteer time came to me while I was a hairstylist doing free haircuts at the WARM Center a few years ago. I wished that I could help more, but it was difficult while working full time and going to school.
