All photographers are cordially invited to submit up to three works in Color or Black &amp; White for consideration in this year’s juried photography exhibition at the Hygienic Art Gallery. Meet Our Juror: Todd Gipstein Award-winning photographer, writer, producer, and lecturer Todd Gipstein brings more than 50 years of experience in visual storytelling. A Harvard graduate, Todd spent decades with National Geographic, traveling the world creating acclaimed productions on culture, history, nature, and photography. His work has earned more than 40 Gold Awards, numerous international honors, and a place in the Association for Multi-Media International Producers Hall of Fame. He also collaborated with Vice President Al Gore on the media presentation that evolved into the Academy Award-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth. We're honored to have Todd serve as this year's juror. All artists participating can submit their work in person at the Hygienic Art Gallery on August 20th &amp; August 21st from Noon to 7 PM. Entry Fee: $15 one piece, $25 two pieces, $30 three pieces. E Pluribus Venus, showcases the overlapping views of five very diverse female artists and offers a vital and dynamic discussion on contemporary femininity, unity, and artistic material. Deliberately rephrasing the Latin phrase "Out of many, one" as the title highlights the exhibition's central idea: the potent resonance that arises when disparate disciplines come together with Catherine Gibson's magical fused glass, Serena Bates's imposing sculptures, Diane Brown's unexpected wax and oil mixed medium, Heather Lusk's miniature realism oils, and Kira Seamon’s kaleidoscope and dreamlike photography. The exhibition offers a unique chance to witness a variety of media—from molten glass to monumental bronze to exquisite brushwork. Viewers are encouraged to discover how these distinct artists, each operating under particular material limitations and conceptual frameworks, eventually relate to common human experiences and unity in the Hygienic Gallery setting

The 44th Annual WICC Surfside Hotel <a href="https://www.bluefishtournament.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Greatest Bluefish Tournament on Earth</a> returns to Long Island Sound on Saturday, August 29, with fishing officially beginning at 12:01 a.m. Anglers from Connecticut and New York will compete for bragging rights—and a $25,000 grand prize awarded to the tournament's largest bluefish.
The weekend-long tournament features more than $40,000 in total cash prizes, including:
<ul>
 <li>1st Place: $25,000</li>
 <li>2nd Place: $7,500</li>
 <li>3rd Place: $2,500</li>
 <li>Smaller cash prizes awarded through 20th Place</li>
 <li>Port Prizes awarded for the heaviest bluefish weighed at each official Connecticut and New York weigh station (see below for complete list of weigh stations)</li>
</ul>
Young anglers, 17 and under, will also have the chance to win big. The tournament will award a $1,000 cash prize to the largest bluefish caught by a youth angler. Second and third place youth winners will receive $100 gift cards.

The registration deadline is Friday, August 28, at 11:59 p.m. Registration is $36 per angler and is required to participate. Fishing begins at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, and concludes at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 30.
Throughout the tournament weekend, WICC, 99.1 PLR, STAR 99.9, and WEBE108 will provide hourly leaderboard updates and tournament results.
