We're thrilled to report that Cherie received her transplant on August 15, 2015!

In the mid-90s, Cherie was diagnosed with fatty liver disease, which worsened until she was diagnosed with non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver in 2013. Doctors said a liver transplant was essential to her survival.

During this challenging time, Cherie is thankful for the support and encouragement of her husband, LeRoy, and their two children and loved ones. She is extremely proud of her son’s service in the U.S. Army, and her granddaughter, Clara, is the light of her life. She enjoys reading and taking walks when she feels well enough, and she looks forward to having a new lease on life. More than anything, she simply wants to feel well again. But right now, she needs your help.

The average liver transplant costs approximately $575,000. And that’s only the beginning. While her insurance will cover a portion of the transplant costs, she still faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications, which are as critical to her survival as the transplant itself.
