Roselyn Bi, founder of Tulip’s Promise Foundation, discovered that newly arrived students often receive little or no guidance on adjusting to American schools and culture. In response, she created a student-friendly Welcome Handbook covering the things young people actually need to know—from navigating cultural norms and building friendships to advocating for themselves and caring for their mental health.
Tulip’s Promise has since expanded to six states and several other countries and grown beyond the Welcome Handbook to include a Culture Sharing Camp and Global Youth Art Contest.
Come hear Roselyn’s story and learn how one local student turned an identified need into an organization reaching young people far beyond Howard County.Free and open to the public.
