Stoneleigh: a natural garden

It’s never too early to start thinking about harvesting from the garden for a beautiful holiday display. Join Kristen Ryan, senior horticulturist and creative lead for Stoneleigh’s Home for the Holidays event series, for a workshop all about bringing the beauty of the garden indoors as home décor.&nbsp; 
During this workshop, you’ll learn about harvesting methods, preservation techniques, and other tips and tricks for creating long-lasting and stunning natural decorations. Part lecture, part demonstration, and part practical application, Kristen will have you ready and prepared to start planning your holiday displays.&nbsp; 
This workshop will have indoor and outdoor components, so please dress accordingly. A handout of our “Lessons Learned” will be provided, along with other instructional materials. Each participant will leave with a small bundle of flowers to dry and use at home.&nbsp;

As the summer draws to a close, join us in the Circle Garden for a family-friendly concert celebrating the beginning of autumn with Miss Virginia and her supergroup of area children’s musicians, Miss Laura and Mr. Anthony. 
Spread a blanket or bring your own chairs and enjoy an afternoon of outdoor family jams with a full band. This program is intended for families with children&nbsp; age 0 to 10. Families are welcome to bring their own shakers, sticks, or other percussive instruments to join in the musical fun.  
Picnicking is welcome during the event. Please remember that Stoneleigh is a carry in/carry out property.&nbsp;

Join natural dyer and textile artist Laura Hricko for a hands-on workshop in the garden, where the surrounding landscape will serve as both inspiration and resource. Using locally grown and native dye flowers and foliage, this workshop will guide you through the natural dye technique known as “eco-printing” to design an organic cotton bandana and a silk scarf. As we work, Laura will discuss the fundamentals of natural dyeing, including fiber preparation, plant selection, and the unique qualities of plant dyes. While surrounded by the biodiversity that Stoneleigh’s gardens celebrate, you’ll experience the magic of coaxing color from plants to create lasting prints on fabric and deepen your understanding of sustainable textile art.&nbsp; 
This workshop is appropriate for all levels of experience, ages 12+.&nbsp;

Tredyffrin Township Arts Commission

The Tredyffrin Township Arts Commission invites Chester and Montgomery County artists to submit work for Valley Forge — Then and Now, a Juried Exhibition at the Tredyffrin Township Building.

The exhibition celebrates Valley Forge National Historical Park in conjunction with America's 250th anniversary. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme broadly — historic, contemporary, natural, or conceptual works all welcome.

Eligible media include photography, painting, drawing/works on paper, and mixed media. Works must be original, 2D, sized 8"x10" to 24"x36", framed/matted/gallery-wrapped, and easel-ready. One entry per artist.

• Artwork Drop-Off: October 2 | 12–2 PM

Call for Artists - Fall 2026 Juried Exhibit | Valley Forge: Then and Now

Seating is the primary focus, with numerous sets and pairs of upholstered bar chairs, bar stools, dining chairs, and molded plastic seating. Styles range from contemporary and industrial to Mid-Century Modern inspired designs. Many examples feature grey or light-colored upholstery paired with black metal frames, while others incorporate curved wood or wood-veneer backrests, tubular frames, sled bases, tapered legs, and integrated footrests.
The auction also includes numerous coordinated bar-height and café table sets. Tables feature wood, white laminate, and faux marble tops paired with black, chrome, brushed metal, or black-and-brass pedestal and frame designs. Several larger industrial-style high-top tables measure approximately six feet long and are accompanied by matching or complementary stools, while smaller round pedestal tables provide options for café, restaurant, and hospitality seating arrangements.
Commercial fixtures include three reception counters or desks, including modular and faux marble designs with storage cabinetry, raised transaction surfaces, decorative trim, and contemporary finishes. These pieces complement the broader selection of contract-style seating and tables.
With 40 lots largely devoted to coordinated commercial seating and tables, the sale provides an opportunity to acquire chairs in multiples rather than individually. Offerings range from four-chair dining and bar sets to pairs of stools, complete café arrangements, high-top table-and-stool combinations, reception furniture, and individual tables.
The catalog is particularly well suited to restaurants, cafés, bars, offices, waiting areas, event spaces, and other commercial interiors, with many chairs offered in matching sets.
