Birthday: June 15, 1985
Bio. Deena holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Rowan University. She's worked at local daily newspapers such as The Daily Journal in Cumberland County, The Gloucester County Times in Gloucester County, and Today's Sunbeam in Salem County.
Besides writing, Deena's free time is spent drawing, reading, expanding her musical archives and, when she rarely has the time, playing music.
Our Beliefs
At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable. This disclosure is not a license for them to inject their beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that their beliefs are on the record will cause them to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know.
My Beliefs. Better to take a risk and fail, than to live in regret.
Politics. Deena isn't necessarily fond of this topic.
Religion. Deena's belief system is ecclectic in nature. A non-conformist by nature, she's yet to find an organized religion she can be boxed into. Her method—adopting parts of various practices that she agrees with and melding them together in a personal harmony.
Local Hot-Button Issues. Keeping the borough's reputation as a local arts district alive during a time of economic uncertainty.
As long as she's breathing, Deena will be a firm advocate and supporter of local arts.
