<h2>Saint Saviour's Opens Doors for Old Greenwich Memorial Day Parade — Free Refreshments, Souvenirs, and the Best Seat in Town</h2>
OLD GREENWICH, CT — One of Old Greenwich's most beloved Memorial Day traditions returns this year and Saint Saviour's Episcopal Church throws open its doors for a free community viewing party for the annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 25, beginning at 9:45 a.m. The parade begins at 10:00 am so please come early!
The historic 1918 church sits directly along the parade route — making it the premier vantage point as the procession travels down Sound Beach Avenue from Shore Acre Drive and winds up to Binney Park for the official veterans' memorial service. Reverend Michael Southwick, who will later lead the prayers during the Binney Park ceremony, will be on hand alongside his wife Debby and Saint Saviour's parishioners to welcome the public with refreshments, and patriotic souvenirs. All are welcome — no RSVP required.
"This is one of the highlights of our year," said Reverend Southwick. "Memorial Day is about remembering those who made the greatest sacrifice for this country, and we're proud to help bring the community together to honor their service."
The Old Greenwich Memorial Day Parade is a cornerstone of community life in Greenwich, drawing families, veterans, marching bands, local organizations, sports teams, and youth groups together each year in a wonderful display of patriotism and civic pride.
Saint Saviour's itself is a treasured piece of Old Greenwich history — a welcoming neighborhood parish that has served the community since 1918. Its charming, mission-style church building is also home to a beloved dance school and nursery school, making it a familiar and cherished gathering place for generations of local families.

In addition, see how the&nbsp;lighting design by Richard Kelly&nbsp;– a pioneer and master of modern architectural lighting and a collaborator with Philip Johnson and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe –&nbsp;transforms the Glass House&nbsp;as the sun sinks in the sky.
This tour runs&nbsp;two hours&nbsp;in duration and is formulated to facilitate&nbsp;photography for personal use.&nbsp;It includes access to the Glass House, Brick House, Painting Gallery, Sculpture Gallery, and Da Monsta, with a&nbsp;three-quarter mile walk over paved, grass, and gravel paths.

All&nbsp;tours depart from the Glass House Visitor Center + Design Store&nbsp;located at 199 Elm Street, New Canaan, CT 06840. Visitors are transported to the site in a shuttle which departs promptly.

The Town of Greenwich Parks &amp; Recreation Foundation, in partnership with the Town of Greenwich Parks &amp; Recreation Department, is proud to announce the launch of Light Up Greenwich, a community-wide fundraising campaign designed to enhance the Town’s beloved Fourth of July fireworks celebrations taking place this July at Binney Park and Greenwich Point.
The campaign will run through June 1, allowing sufficient time for fireworks ordering and production planning ahead of the July celebrations
In honor of our country’s 250th anniversary in 2026, the campaign seeks to raise an additional $25,000 to elevate this year’s displays creating a more dynamic, memorable experience for the thousands of residents and families who gather each year to celebrate Independence Day. 
For generations, the Town’s fireworks have united neighbors, families, and friends in a shared celebration of community pride, celebrating the spirit of the Fourth of July holiday. As Greenwich prepares to commemorate this historic milestone alongside the national America 250
 initiative, the Foundation is calling on residents, businesses, and civic leaders to play a meaningful role in amplifying this cherished tradition.
“At its core, this celebration is about our country and community,” said Joe Siciliano, Director of Parks and Recreation. “Each year, we are proud to bring residents together for an experience that feels both timeless and uniquely Greenwich. As we approach the 250th anniversary of America, we have an opportunity to make this year’s fireworks truly exceptional, but doing so requires the support of the community we serve.”
The campaign comes at a time when the cost of producing fireworks displays has risen significantly due to increased production expenses, supply chain pressures, and tariffs impacting materials. These factors have made it more challenging for municipalities nationwide to maintain let alone enhance the scale and quality of traditional displays.
“This is a moment where community partnership matters more than ever,” said Sue Moretti Bodson, Co-Chair of the Town of Greenwich Parks &amp; Recreation Foundation. “With rising costs and external pressures like tariffs impacting fireworks production, we are stepping forward to ensure that this milestone celebration reflects the significance of America’s 250th anniversary. Light Up Greenwich
 is about more than fireworks - it’s about bringing people together, honoring our shared history, and creating a joyful, collective experience for the entire Town.”
Funds raised through the campaign will directly support enhancements to the July 2, 2026, fireworks displays at both Binney Park and Greenwich Point, ensuring a more vibrant and elevated show befitting this historic year. 
The campaign includes opportunities for corporate sponsorship, community giving, and broad-based participation, with recognition across digital promotions, press materials, and event acknowledgments. Sponsorship levels range from $1,000 to $7,500, alongside individual giving opportunities designed to engage residents of all ages.
