Erik Horner, Neighbor

Erik is a senior at the University of Rhode Island majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Writing and Rhetoric. His responsibilities there include being a writing tutor, a journalism teaching assistant, one of three writers for the student-run PR agency 'The Big Idea Group' and currently interning at the Marketing and Public Relations firm New Harbor Group, located in Providence, RI.

He was the editorial editor for his high school newspaper, The Current Wave, which consistently won the Providence Journal's yearly award for best high school publication.

Outside of school, he classifies himself as three things: a writer, a sports fan and a workaholic. He tends to write whenever the opportunity presents itself and loves doing it. While his future career is certainly not concrete, that fact that it will involve writing is.

Erik is borderline obsessed with New England Sports. He rarely misses a Celtics or Sox game and watches the Patriots as often as possible. When they lose,  he becomes upset and irritable.

Paying for college himself and shouldering every expense that comes his way alone, work is a big part of Erik's life. He is currently a bellman/valet at Hotel Viking in Newport, RI, but was a butcher at Dave's Marketplace in Wickford for three years. Days off are rare, and quite frankly that's the way he likes it.
