Susan Chupp is a Nationally Certified Counselor through NBCC (National Board of Certified Counselors) who enjoys working with children, families, and couples. She graduated from Walden University with a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. Prior to her master’s work, she attended Georgia State University and earned a Bachelor degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. She completed her internship by conducting individual and group therapy for children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Susan provides a safe, non-judgmental, and exciting therapeutic environment. She uses an assortment of resources other than traditional "talk" therapy to help her clients easily express themselves at their level of comfort. She has an integrative approach to therapy and utilizes play, art, and skill building techniques. Her primary goal is always what works best for each individual client.

Susan has experience working with individuals struggling with a variety of issues including ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, divorce care, family transitions, anger management issues, and developing social skills. She believes that the therapist-client interaction is collaborative, and participation of the client is essential to fostering a healthy therapeutic relationship. When working with children, Susan encourages parental involvement in the therapeutic process to promote positive change and open communication.

Susan is also a certified Prepare-Enrich facilitator, which is an enrichment program to help couples develop healthier relationships. This program focuses on communication skills, conflict resolution, family background, financial issues, personality traits, couple dynamics/roles, sexuality, and spiritual beliefs. It includes an online assessment tool for couples to complete independently. For those couples with children, there is a unique assessment for parenting. This assessment includes a child behavior checklist, a Parenting Stress profile, Co-Parenting or Step Parenting profile, and (optional) Family Spiritual Beliefs scale. The parenting version of the program centers on creating a family map, determining the parenting style most often utilized, developing confidence in parenting, family communication, family satisfaction, and relationship satisfaction by child.
