Tickets are $33 - $66 (fees are included) and available at www.coloradojazz.org or by calling 720-898-7200.
John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, and Stan Getz each brought a unique voice to the world of jazz, shaping the music in lasting ways. Coltrane’s powerful, searching sound pushed the boundaries of improvisation, Rollins’ bold tone and inventive style made him a master of spontaneous creativity, and Getz’s smooth, lyrical approach introduced countless listeners to the beauty of jazz. Together, they represent three of the most influential saxophonists in American music, whose work continues to inspire musicians and audiences alike.
Marking Coltrane’s centennial, the program moves from the drive of “Impressions” (featuring a four-tenor showdown) to the cool swing of selections from the 1962 recording, Big Band Bossa Nova.
The evening closes with Rollins’ “Tenor Madness,” with an open invitation for saxophonists in the audience to bring their horns and play along with the band!
Hannah Rodriguez is a dynamic, award-winning vocalist and multi-instrumentalist based in Northern Colorado. With deep ties to Denver’s vibrant music scene, her genre-blending style fuses jazz, rock, and pop and she’s earned accolades from DownBeat Magazine and the Sonic Spotlight competition for her expressive vocal performances and inventive arrangements.

Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, and Michael Bublé stand as three defining voices of popular song, each shaping the sound of their generation while carrying forward timeless vocal artistry. Sinatra’s unmatched blend of swing, emotional depth, and stylistic sophistication helped set the gold standard for American popular music, while Crosby’s warm, relaxed crooning and pioneering influence in radio, film, and recording technology made him one of the most successful entertainers of the 20th century. Today, Bublé continues that lineage with his modern revival of traditional pop and the Great American Songbook, bringing classic style to contemporary audiences with global chart‑topping success.
Matt Brooker is a versatile American vocalist whose work moves fluidly across jazz, pop, rock, country, and musical theatre. A Premier Band vocalist with the United States Air Force Academy Band, he performs nationwide in settings ranging from formal concerts and ceremonies to large‑scale public events, including appearances with the Academy’s popular music group Blue Delta. Raised in Cocoa Beach, Florida, Brooker’s musical foundation spans cello, steel pan, French horn, and voice, later refined through music education studies at the University of Florida and early vocal work in musical theatre and a cappella. His career developed further in Atlanta’s jazz and cabaret scene, where he became a sought‑after performer and producer before relocating to Colorado. Today, Brooker is known for his dynamic stage presence, and genre‑spanning repertoire that resonate with audiences.
The CJRO small band: Drew Zaremba (Sax), Eric Gunnison (Piano), Gonzalo Teppa (Bass), and Alejandro Castaño (Drums).

Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra Presents

Jazz de Paris

Featuring Enion Pelta-Tiller on Vocal & Violin

Drew Zaremba, Artistic Director
Sunday, October 25 at 6:00 p.m. / Dazzle Denver
The CJRO returns to the distinctive sound of jazz manouche with a fresh take on a program first explored last spring. Inspired by guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stéphane Grappelli, Jazz de Paris brings hot strings and swing to Dazzle for an intimate evening of driving rhythms, inventive improvisation, and plenty of musical interplay. Dazzle Denver is located at 1080 14th St, Denver, CO 80202. Tickets are $21 - $33, purchase at Colorado Jazz Concerts or by calling the Dazzle box office at 303-839-5100.
Violinist and vocalist Enion Pelta-Tiller joins the CJRO small band for a concert rooted in the music Reinhardt and Grappelli who helped define in 1930s Paris. Their legendary Quintette du Hot Club de France blended American jazz with European and Romani musical influences, creating a distinctive acoustic style built around guitar, violin, bass, and propulsive rhythm. The CJRO puts its own stamp on the music, moving between jazz manouche favorites, swinging standards, and selections that venture beyond the traditional Hot Club repertoire.
The CJRO small band features Jared Cathey (saxophone), Ben Hall (piano), Mike Abbott (guitar), and Gonzalo Teppa (bass), along with special guest Enion Pelta-Tiller (violin and vocal).
Pelta-Tiller, co-founder of the internationally known band Taarka, is equally at home as a violinist, vocalist, and improviser. Her wide-ranging musical background makes her a natural fit for an evening where Django-inspired swing sets the stage for something fresh.
The CJRO is one of the region's premier jazz ensembles, featuring top-tier musicians dedicated to honoring and expanding the jazz tradition. Known for their innovative programming and electrifying performances, the CJRO continues to push boundaries while preserving the rich legacy of jazz. Read more at ColoradoJazz.org

BALLET ARIEL ANNOUNCES ITS
2026/2027 FALL & HOLIDAY SEASON
Celebrating 28 years, Colorado’s own Ballet Ariel announces the Fall and holiday productions for its 2026-2027 season. Each brings charm, beauty, emotion and community to the stage with original productions of Little Women for Fall and The Nutcracker for the holidays. The Spring production will be announced at a later date. Available images are attached.
FALL SHOW: Little Women Description: Based on the 1869 semi-autobiographical, coming-of-age book by Louisa May Alcott, Little Women follows the four March sisters, Amy, Beth, Jo and Meg and their neighbor Theodore “Laurie” Laurence, from childhood to adulthood. Just as Little Women is divided into two books, Ballet Ariel’s production is divided into two acts with select vignettes from the stories. The first is inspired by the four sisters growing up, facing childhood challenges and choices as their mother, Marmee, runs the household and raises the girls while their father serves as a Civil War chaplain. Jo refuses Laurie’s proposal and he later marries Amy and builds a happy life with her. Throughout, the sisters navigate the joys and trials of life to find their place in the world.
In this original production created by Artistic and Executive Director Ilena Norton, both costumes and choreography illustrate the character of each sister with solos and group dances based on select chapters from the book. Chemistry and connection between the characters is felt throughout. Creative scenic design supports the storytelling.
The music that accompanies Little Women includes a score that is a blend of traditional holiday music such as “Away in a Manger” and “I Saw Three Ships” with classical pieces including several by Grieg from his “Lyric Pieces,” plus music by French and American composers.
Location: The newly-opened Cleo Parker Robinson Theatre, Center for the Healing Arts, 2025 N. Washington St., Denver, Colorado 80205. Dates: Sunday, November 8, 2pm. Tickets: $36.50 adult, $31.50 student/senior, $26.50 child (includes $1.50 ticket fee).

The imaginative paintings of Jamie Zerr-Lockwood and Jane FalkenbergFalkenberg’s work evokes mysticism, nocturnal activity and tales of danger in the natural world. Magnificent animals with remarkable features, as well as creatures drawn from legend, are reimagined into compelling narratives. These works are painted with lilting precision and harmonious, richly colored compositions.
Lockwood’s captivating artwork has animals of land, sea and air embark on fanciful adventures. Umbrellaed gold fish, birds of all kinds, feathers leaves and fungi combined in surreal ways with forest friends and found objects combined with forms by her own hands make for fun discovery.
Reoccurring and uncommon characters are presented in ways only Lockwood could envision, painted in decisive dimensional renderings, often in wonderfully peculiar settings.
