The Building Bridges Coffeehouse in Bradenton kicks off its 2026-27 concert series with FL native and singer-songwriter Sarah McCulloch at a new Sunday afternoon time. Admission is a $20 donation at the door. Doors open 2:30pm. Open seating, accessible, plenty of parking, refreshments available. Growing up in a swampy, remote section of Florida’s Collier County, Sarah’s songwriting reflects her colorful childhood, surrounded by the Seminole Tribe and Florida pioneers and being raised in a family supported by her father’s saw mill business. Her songs are lively, funny, sad and at times introspective. And it isn’t long before audience catch on and sing right along with her. Learn more about her music at www.saramacmusic.com.
Her latest full-length album is live and recorded in March 21, 2026 at Temple Beth El in Hollywood, Florida. Backed by the red-hot White Knuckle Flyers, the new release contains 13 fan favorites plus two brand new tracks - "Cherokee Rose" and "Sure to Be a Rainbow." Sarah was recently recognized by the State of Florida's Division of Arts and Culture for her significant contribution to country music. Memorial for Syriah Henderson to be held at the Uhuru House; InPDUM President to Speak

The public is invited to attend a Syriah Henderson Memorial sponsored by the International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement (InPDUM). The Memorial will recognize the life of Syriah Henderson, the 29 year old Black woman found hanging from a tree behind the Dollar Tree Store at 3426 Central Avenue on July 1, 2026. The St. Petersburg Police Department declared the hanging death of Henderson a suicide shortly after the discovery of her body. However, due to the suspicious nature of her death, InPDUM has initiated its own homicide investigation.

This Memorial will be an opportunity for the African community to become organized, build political power and pursue economic development. The keynote speaker will be long time activist and current International President of the InPDUM, Bakari Olatunji. Other speakers will include Nevela Williams, mother of Syriah Henderson, Jamie Simpson, of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement and others.

Syriah Henderson Candlelight Vigil to be Held at Site of Hanging

The public is invited to attend a Candlelight Vigil sponsored by the International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement (InPDUM). The Candlelight Vigil will be another fightback action to make the world aware of the suspicious hanging death of Syriah Henderson.

Henderson was found hanging from a tree on July 1, 2026. The organization is aggressively building a campaign to make Henderson’s death a cause to rally the Black community to organize for political power, economic development and self defense.

The Vigil is seen as a defining moment in the struggle against colonial violence against the African community. The InPDUM knows that colonialism imposes political powerlessness, poverty, and violence on the Black community.

There is historic significance to the Vigil being held on October 24th. The Vigil is being held 30 years after the police murder of 18 year old Tyron Lewis. A moment of silence will recognize the murder of Lewis at the same time showing that colonial violence against African people comes in many forms. It’s time to fight back. We will gather behind the Dollar Tree at 3426 Central Avenue, St. Pete, where Syriah Henderson's body was found.Contact: (727)914-3617 or email InPDUMSTPETE2@gmail.com
