Huntington Learning Center, Neighbor
- Alpharetta-Milton, GA
I went to college at King College in Bristol Tn. Four busy years later, and with a double major in Biology and Chemistry in hand, I moved to Atlanta to attend Georgia State University for graduate work in Biophysical Chemistry.
I never did earn my Ph.D. Spending time with my wife and young children won out over long hours spent alone in a laboratory. Instead, I joined the Georgia Environmental Protection Division as an analytical scientist in the Metals lab. Within a few years I was managing the lab, and continued managing the Environmental Metals lab for seventeen years.
I started tutoring evenings at Huntington Learning Center. It was great! I specialized in upper level tutoring: Math, Chemistry, Physics, ACT and SAT prep. Huntington is not your ordinary tutoring center. We focus on developing the critical thinking skills all students need to be successful in life. I have personally seen how building these skills can change a child’s life. So, when an opening for Director at the Alpharetta Huntington became available, I jumped at the opportunity, resigned from the State, and started a new chapter of my life.
