Join One More Page Books for (bloody) prom punch, tulle dresses (optional, but encouraged!), and a game of "shred your enemies" as we celebrate all the Final Girls who ever dodged death in order to claim their crown.</p>

Stratton </strong>is a NAACP Image Award-nominated author and former crime newspaper reporter who has written more than a 30 books under different pen names in just about every genre from thrillers to romance to historical fiction. When we say "Love is all around," we mean literally. We'll have different Romance trope displays all around the store for the return of our famous <strong>Trope Tour! </strong>There may be one or two additions since last year's Bookstore Romance Day... Whatever your taste in tropes is, we don't judge!</p>
<p>The day will be filled with celebration of all things Romance, including a raffle for a basket of hot-ticket items, exclusive goodies, and, of course, books. It came with a tiny package of candy, and her addiction to love and sweets was cemented in one fell swoop. Sadly, she lost touch with her first beau, but the idea of life being better when hearts are entwined stuck with her. By the start of high school she had her pen name picked out and a small part of herself saw her books lined up next to those of her favorite authors. Fortunately? Unfortunately? Other parts of herself saw her following society’s encouragement to pursue “important” work. “Important” work won out, followed by a busy and peripatetic life with her family.</p>
<p>Through it all, though, Meg remained convinced that without love, everything else is meaningless. She has been blessed throughout her life to find love everywhere: in supportive parents and siblings, magnificent teachers, good friends, crazy pets, caring co-workers, beloved children, and a wonderful husband. Like probably everyone on this planet, she has known heartbreak, failure, betrayal, and loss, but Mr. Roger’s optimism always seems to prove more durable than pain. Love can be found anywhere, anytime; we just have to keep our eyes and our hearts open.</p>
<p>The titles of Meg’s books and stories all contain the word “second” because most things worth fighting for require more than we can possibly imagine during chapter one.</p>

<p>At Northern Virginia Family Services (NVFS), one of the region’s largest and most established human services nonprofits, we believe every child deserves to walk into the classroom on the first day of school feeling confident, prepared, and ready to learn. But for many local families, the excitement of a new school year is overshadowed by the financial stress of buying school supplies. By helping families meet this essential need, we can ease financial pressure and give students the tools they need to succeed from day one.</p>
<p>This summer, NVFS is bringing together individuals, businesses, and community partners from across Northern Virginia, to provide new backpacks and essential school supplies to more than 1,500 local students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Together, we're helping children feel prepared for the school year ahead while easing the financial burden on families working toward greater stability.</p>
<p>You can help families start the school year with confidence. Whether you donate, host a supply drive, or spread the word, every contribution helps equip students for success in the classroom, and strengthens families across our community.</p>

<p>After a double Wammie win, Valeria is celebrating with the release of a new World album—plus performing the songs that made this year unforgettable. Valeria Stewart will be on stage at Lubber Run Amphitheater with a powerhouse ensemble—lead guitarist Kevin Dudley, bassist Zoe Jorgenson, percussionist Manny Arciniega, and vocalist Grey Jacks—for a dynamic, multilingual performance. The evening celebrates her award-winning Raíces | Roots alongside the debut of new music from On a Wing, blending Latin, folk, and global influences.</p>

Arlington Mill Community Center

<p><b>Bring the whole family to Arlington Mill for an evening of laughs, basketball, and underdog determination with <em>Goat</em>.</b></p>
<p>This animated family comedy follows a determined young goat chasing his dream of becoming a professional basketball star. Before the movie, kids can enjoy face painting and family-friendly activities, making this one of our most kid-focused events of the summer.</p>
<p>We'll also have food vendors on site, fresh popcorn available for purchase, and popsicles sold by the Columbia Pike Partnership, with proceeds supporting future community events and programs.</p>
<p>Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and your biggest cheering section as we celebrate dreams, determination, and a little basketball magic under the stars.<br><br>🎨 Face painting before the movie<br>
