Come visit the swamp this summer at Wellesley Theatre Project (WTP) as they bring a Dreamworks favorite to life in an exciting summer production of Shrek, The Musical KIDS! Join Shrek, the lovable ogre with a heart of gold, on a hilarious and heartwarming adventure in this playful musical adaptation. When fairy-tale characters suddenly invade his swamp, Shrek embarks on a journey to reclaim his home—teaming up with the endlessly talkative Donkey and unexpectedly forming a bond with the feisty Princess Fiona. Along the way, they confront the pint-sized villain Lord Farquaad and discover that true beauty comes from within. Packed with humor, charm, and unforgettable characters, Shrek, The Musical KIDS shows that everyone deserves their own happily-ever-after.
Wellesley Theatre Project is proud to present Shrek, the Musical KIDS through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). The show features two casts totaling 50 students, ages 7–13, from Wellesley and neighboring communities including Needham, Newton, Weston, Medfield, Wayland, Framingham, Dedham, Jamaica Plain, and Brookline.
The production team includes: Lydia Furlong, Director; Kennedy VanCleve, Associate Director, Amber Crossman, Music Director; Paige Langston, Choreographer; Sara McMormick, Associate Choreographer; DD Marcoux, Costume Designer; Ben Rush, Scenic &amp; Lighting Designer; Justyn Ferguson, Sound Engineer; and Tyler John, Prop Designer.
Shrek, The Musical KIDS features a Book and Lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire, Music by Jeanine Tesori, and is based on the DreamWorks Animation Motion Picture and the Book by William Steig.

On July 16th, and 17th at 5pm and July 18th at 2pm and 5pm, journey into the most iconic fairytale of all time at the Sorenson Center for the Arts at Babson College for WTP’s first session of Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Youth Edition! Follow Cinderella as she rises above the cruelty of her wicked stepmother and stepsisters with the help of her Fairy Godmother, who magically prepares her for the royal ball. When she captures the heart of the Prince, she must race against midnight to preserve the spell—and ultimately find her place in a world that finally sees her worth. The production team includes: Alyssa Burke, Director; Rose Mooney, Music Director; Luciana Fionda, Choreographer; Kylie Fletcher, Associate Choreographer; Dionysus Riverson, Costume Designer; Ben Rush, Scenic Designer; Justyn Ferguson, Sound Engineer; and Tyler John, Lighting &amp; Prop Designer. The run crew, as well as various prop design, scenic painting, and lighting design components showcase the work of 8 Technical Theatre Camp students.
Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Youth Edition features a Book and Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, Music by Richard Rogers, and an adaptation by Tom Briggs.

The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision.
