Through the transformative lens of Playback Theater, Deep Improv Theater, actors and musicians will bring your true experiences to life using movement music, metaphor and spoken word.
Relationships are vital to our lives;&nbsp;every life is woven from them.&nbsp; They are fun, difficult, amazing, inspiring, satisfying, and/or challenging.&nbsp;We have people we love, avoid, and put up with. We have them&nbsp;with animals, objects, places, ideas, money, and society.&nbsp;What relationships shaped you, elated you, irritated you, pushed you, made you grow, laugh and/or cry?
No two shows are alike.&nbsp;Come as you are, tell your story&nbsp;or simply watch them come to life on stage.

Bay Area Playback Theater "Exploring Stories of Relationships"

The San Geronimo Valley Community Center's Valley Arts and Lecture Series proudly presents an extraordinary evening of contemporary American Poetry featuring two widely published poets living in Woodacre—Aja Couchois Duncan and Albert Flynn DeSilver. Both poets will be celebrating the release of their new books: Aja's The Intimacy Trials just out from the University of Chicago Press's Phoenix Poetry Series, and Albert's SOME VOID: New &amp; Selected Poems 1996-2026, from the nonexistent press which celebrates work from the past 30 years.
Aja Couchois Duncan is a social justice coach and capacity builder of Anishinaabe, French and Scottish descent living on the ancestral and stolen lands of the Coast Miwok / Tamal-ko people. Her debut collection, Restless Continent (Litmus Press, 2016) was selected by Entropy Magazine as one of the best poetry collections of 2016 and awarded the California Book Award for Poetry in 2017. Her latest book is The Intimacy Trials just out from The University of Chicago Press.&nbsp;&nbsp;
 Albert Flynn DeSilver is an internationally published poet and writer, and 30 year resident of Woodacre. Albert taught as a California Poet in the School for many years, and from 2008-2010 served as Marin County's very first poet laureate. He is the author of numerous books of poetry including Letters to Early Street, the memoir Beamish Boy, a nonfiction book on writing titled Writing as a Path to Awakening from Sounds True, and is currently working on numerous fiction projects. Albert has taught at the Esalen Institute, Omega Institute, Spirit Rock, and at writers conferences nationally. He is the development coordinator at the Community Center and hosts the radio and podcast program Voices of the Valley on KWMR.

Woodacre Improvement Club

The San Geronimo Valley Community Center is thrilled to announce the 4th Annual Valley Car Show, rolling into a brand-new location this year! Join us on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Woodacre Improvement Club for a full day of classic cars, community spirit, live music, and family fun.
This year’s show promises something for everyone. Enjoy live music from Wreckless Strangers, sip local craft beer from Fairfax Brew Co., and wines from JD Ranch and Vineyards. Delicious food vendors will be on site, along with Silver Shave Ice, a Family &amp; Kids Activity Zone, and more festivities throughout the day.
Car enthusiasts can look forward to an impressive lineup of vehicles competing for Sponsor Choice Awards, selected by our event sponsors, as well as the coveted Valley Community–Voted Best in Show Award.

San Rafael will rumble back to life as the 36th Annual May Madness Car Show &amp; Parade returns on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
This free, family-friendly event, the longest-running car show and parade in Northern California, features over 200 classic cars, hot rods, and customs lining Fourth Street from noon to 6 PM, with the crowd-favorite parade rolling out at 5 PM. The celebration kicks off with a Friday Night Cruise on May 8 at 6 PM.
New this year: a retro-inspired mobile photo booth inside a restored 1962 Ford Falcon, offering a fun, nostalgic experience for attendees. Also, there will be special American Graffiti screenings at the Rafael Theater in conjunction with May Madness!
Enjoy live music, local food and drinks, and a full day of community celebration in the heart of Downtown San Rafael! FREE!!
