The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce the return of the annual Summer Run Series. This eight-race series will begin Monday, June 8 and will run through Monday, August 10, 2026. Participation in the Summer Run Series will be limited to a total of 4,000 runners. Tier 1 Registration – CLOSED.

Tier 2 Registration – opens Wednesday, April 15 at 6:00am
Includes 4 races only and is open to a maximum of 1,500 runners
(Heckscher – 5-mile and 5k, Sunken Meadow – 10K, Jones Beach – 5-mile)
Cost is $75 per registrant. 

Wheelchair Registration – opens Wednesday, April 15 at 6:00am

Valley Stream State Park

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce our second annual Juneteenth Jubilee at Valley Stream State Park!
The Juneteenth Jubilee will be held Friday, June 19, 2026, from 12pm to 4pm and will feature cultural entertainment, cultural food, information booths, interactive activities, children’s games, children’s inflatables, and more! The Long Island Nets will be hosting a FREE special basketball clinic for children ages 7 to 14 on the newly upgraded basketball courts. Registration for the clinic is LIVE and will stay open until it is filled. Jones Beach State Park

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce the 2026 FourLeaf Air Show and Fireworks at Jones Beach State Park! 
Festivities will kick off on Saturday, July 4, Independence Day, with a Fireworks Program from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Following Fireworks will be the FourLeaf Air Show, on Sunday, July 5, and Monday, July 6 at 10:00am to 3:00pm, which will feature the United States Navy Blue Angels as the headliner. Created out of a desire to salute America’s heroes and bring a truly patriotic event to Jones Beach State Park, the FourLeaf Air Show has grown into the premier North American air show for the United States’ Semi-quincentennial (250th) Anniversary! Join us for a weekend we won’t forget! 
There is no general admission ticket needed to attend, just a $10 Vehicle Use Fee onsite.

Interested in an upgraded experience while also supporting recreational programs at state parks? The Jones Beach Chalet is just for you! Whether you’re attending with friends, family, colleagues, or clients, we have the space to suit your needs, and all proceeds will benefit state park programming. This experience takes place right on the sand at Jones Beach, next to the center point of the show. Entry allows guests to enjoy a fully catered Continental Breakfast, Hot and Cold Lunch Buffet, Beverage Service that includes beer, wine and soda, VIP Parking, and the use of Private Restroom facilities conveniently located for Chalet guests. For the July 4th Fireworks Chalet, the food service will be adjusted to include a Hot and Cold Dinner Buffet. Seating in the chalet is shared; however, full tables may be reserved.
Tickets for the 2026 Jones Beach Chalet are available to purchase now at <a href="https://www.fourleafairshow.com/hospitality/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.fourleafairshow.com/hospitality/</a>. Tickets are being sold at a discounted rate with an Early Bird Special being offered until May 31, 2026. After May 31, tickets will continue to be available at regular prices. The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, in partnership with the Natural Heritage Trust, is pleased to announce the 2026 Children’s Summer Entertainment schedule. This program is sponsored by NY Life. Children’s Summer Entertainment offers families several opportunities to enjoy a variety of free, fun and interactive shows/activities at state parks throughout Long Island. A vehicle use fee may be in effect and participants are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets. There are no rain dates for these performances. The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce that they are hosting the 48th Annual Jones Beach Volleyball Tournament comprised of 6-player co-ed teams. This event will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2026, rain or shine. 
The tournament will begin at 9:00AM on the volleyball courts at Central Mall Field 4 at Jones Beach State Park. The first round of matches will be played as a round robin. All teams are guaranteed to play seven games. The top two teams from each round robin bracket will advance on to the quarterfinals which will decide the two final teams. Cash prizes will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place teams. The 3rd and 4th place teams will receive merchandise prizes. 
Registration is FREE and is open until the roster is full. Players must be 14 years old or older to participate. Players of all skill levels are welcome to play and will be seeded accordingly. Applications are available by calling 631-321-3510 and emailing LIParksRecreation@parks.ny.gov. Nothing says spring better than our popular Classic Design Luncheon and Lecture! We’re honored to feature Genevieve Wheeler-Brown, the author of&nbsp;<a href="https://beyondblueandwhite.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">“Beyond Blue and White.”</a>
Wheeler-Brown’s book explores the history of Delftware ceramics, focusing on the often-overlooked roles of women as makers, patrons, and collectors, from 17th-century factory owners like&nbsp;Barbara Rotteveel&nbsp;to Gilded Age collectors like&nbsp;Mrs. J. Pierpont Morgan. A must for devotees of decorative arts and the history of material culture. 
Location: The award-winning Jay Estate Gardens designed by Nelson Byrd Woltz. Co-Chairs, Tracy Edwards, Liz Garrett, Emmy Lambert, Lindsay Bello Martin and Suzanne Clary.
Guests will enjoy botanical cocktails and a tour of the blue and white blooms of our gardens at 11:30am followed by lunch and lecture at 12 Noon. Booksigning at 1:30pm. Catering provided by Scarborough Fair Catering.

GENEVIEVE WHEELER BROWN
Founding Genevieve Wheeler Decorative Art Advisory in 2003, Genevieve comes to the advisory business with more than 12 years of experience in the auction world, strong generalist knowledge and a wide range of contacts in American, European and Asian decorative and fine arts.
Genevieve began her career with Christie’s in 1992 with the European Decorative Arts Department after working as an intern at The Phillips Collection, Washington D.C. in 1990. She was then asked to run Overseas Consignments at Christie’s Park Avenue, a department that handled inquiries for European based auctions including Indian and Southeast Asian art, Islamic Art, Miniatures, Textiles and Cameras. In 1995 Genevieve became the New York contact for sales of Fabergé and Russian Silver at Christie’s Park Avenue and most recently was as a specialist in Fine Musical Instruments at Christie’s Rockefeller Center from 1998 to 2003.
While at Christie’s, she was involved with important sales such as ‘The Pine Cone Egg’ by Carl Fabergé and ‘The Taft’ Stradivari which fetched the auction record for an instrument sold in the United States. She has also been an appraiser on the PBS production ‘The Antiques Roadshow’.
A supporter of several fine and decorative art related institutions, Genevieve has served on the Board of the National Society of Colonial Dames in the State of New York, served as a member of the Young Fellows Steering Committee of the Frick Collection from 1995 to 2005 and co-Chaired the Winter Antiques Show Young Collector’s Night, New York in 2004, 2005, and 2006.
Genevieve currently advises several organizations including <a href="https://www.dumbartonhouse.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Dumbarton House</a>, a Federal period house museum in Georgetown, as a board member as well as for <a href="https://www.thewintershow.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">The Winter Show</a> as a vice-chair of Opening Night and as co-founder of The Winter Show Luncheon.About The Jay Heritage Center
