Floris United Methodist Church

<a href="https://faith250.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">faith250</a>is a national program engaging hundreds of congregations in dozens of multifaith clusters beginning right here in Northern Virginia. The local Reston/Herndon cluster will be hosting a celebration of July 4th 2:00-4:00pm at Floris United Methodist Church. The event will begin with a civic ritual created by a multi-faith group of congregations, which includes a review of our local history, songs, poetry, quotations from famous American documents, and an opportunity for each participant to express their hopes for America’s future.&nbsp; Then, we will gather for creative arts, service projects, activities, and opportunities to build up local civic life. This is our community’s way to mark this momentous national milestone. Gather the family and plan to spend the evening with us to celebrate Independence Day!&nbsp; Food trucks, face painting, giant inflatables and amusements beginning at 5:00 pm, along with tunes from DJ Bifocals.&nbsp; LIVE music from Loudoun Jazz Ensemble from 7:30 – 8:30 pm and the Sons of the American Revolution will lead a reading of the Declaration of Independence.&nbsp; Settle in for a spectacular FIREWORKS display beginning at 9:30 pm, accompanied by live music from the Loudoun Symphonic Winds.&nbsp; This is a FREE event. Celebrate America’s big day at Ida Lee Park and enjoy a great night of music, food, fireworks, and fun!
Gates open at 6:00 pm and music starts at 6:30 pm, so be sure to arrive early and grab a spot for a full night of celebration.&nbsp;
Go Go Gadjet will take the stage to deliver premium live music entertainment. Their signature sound fuses the infectious rhythms of dance music with reimagined classics and today's hottest hits.
A full food court will be onsite with funnel cakes, ice cream, burgers, hot dogs, tacos, and so much more.
The biggest bang of the evening begins at 9:30 pm when the largest fireworks show in the region will light up the sky. Choreographed to patriotic music, this light show is not to be missed. (From Leesburgva.gov)

Swiftie Strings Summer Camp is a fun-filled week for beginner and intermediate violin, viola, and cello students who love Taylor Swift's music. Campers will learn and perform string arrangements inspired by Taylor Swift songs while making new friends and building confidence as musicians. Throughout the week, students will rehearse together, participate in music games and activities, create friendship bracelets, and prepare for a special performance for family and friends at the end of camp. No experience is necessary, and rental instruments are available for beginners. 
Tuition: $350
Extended Care Add-On: $200 (8:00AM - 3:30PM M-F daily)
Instrument Rental Add-On: $50 (Available for complete beginners who need an instrument for the week)It's your string era. Join us this summer. ✨
